What does it take to have Cassini host a WCF service?

Jan 16, 2011 at 4:01 PM

From Highlights
  * Full support for any IP address. Not limited to localhost.
o NOTE: Due to an intentional limitation in SimpleWorkerRequest, WCF content is not servable on other than the loopback (localhost)

How can this intentional limitation be removed? Is it an easy task or a hard one? Or is it by design of WCF that it needs IIS or WAS to allow remote client access?

It is an imposed limitation of the SimpleWorkerRequest's integration with the WCF stack. There is no way to remove the limitation. You will find this is the case with Cassini, WebDev.WebServer and UtiDev's implementation. I am as frustrated by this as everyone else but there is nothing to be done.
